LAVENDER
PRUNING
Now is the time to prune your lavender. Lavender does not need much fussing over, but pruning is one of
the essentials to maintain healthy happy lavender. Your lavender will come back stronger and fuller if you prune it
back each year. Pruning also keeps the lavender from getting long leggy bare branches. So turn on the video and
watch as I show you how to prune your lavender. It is as easy as 1,2,3, and you're done. I will show you a
special secret to trimming your lavender that you can do in less than 30 seconds. Now you can have a beautiful happy garden
with a secret that will make pruning a snap.

Trimming Your Grasses There are many schools of thought to trimming
grasses. I am going to tell you how we do it here at Purple Adobe Lavender Farm. This way allows you to have
your grasses right through the winter. They turn a beautiful color of wheat and add a dramatic look to your winter garden.
I do not cut back my grasses in the fall. I leave them to clean out, not cut back, but clean out in the spring.
In fact I believe that not cutting back your ornamental grasses helps them to winter over. Many cut them back right
to the ground, leaving a stubb. I leave them on the stem and do nothing until the spring, using a comb and
a couple of cuts. Yes, that is right, a comb. Just a regular old comb like we use in our hair. It works GREAT! So just leave those grasses alone, enjoy them through the winter and come
back for our Garden Wake up Series in the Spring. I will have a video for you to watch and show you how to wake up your garden
including grasses. Never lose the beauty of your grasses, and never again cut them to their nub leaving an
ugly stubble in the garden. See you in the spring for "Garden Wake Up."
