Guest Blog: A Summer Visit to Purple Adobe Lavender Farm

By guest contributor Becca Fisher

There’s something special about arriving at Purple Adobe Lavender Farm in the summertime. As you pull in, the landscape immediately invites you to slow down and take it all in. The gardens are alive with color, the U-pick lavender fields are open, and newly planted lavender and flower fields offer an exciting glimpse into the farm’s future. Their beautiful test garden is also in full bloom, showcasing a variety of flowers they’re growing as they explore what thrives best in Northern New Mexico. One day, these blooms will become part of a flower shop and U-pick flower experience.

Owners Elizabeth and Roger have created a peaceful, intentionally cohesive space that is full of heart and soul. It’s the kind of place where you naturally find yourself lingering a little longer, soaking in the beauty and the quiet.

One of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon is simply wandering the blooming gardens, exploring the peaceful labyrinth, and taking in the scenery. Every corner offers something new to discover, from vibrant flowers to quiet places to pause, breathe, and enjoy the moment.

But if you ask me, the heart of the experience is the Tea House & Gift Shoppe. I can’t visit without ordering one of their gluten-free baked goods. On a warm summer day, nothing beats pairing one with a refreshing lavender iced tea.

And then there’s my favorite part of all: the lavender gelato. Creamy, delicate, and wonderfully refreshing, it’s the perfect summer treat after strolling the farm.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quiet afternoon, bringing friends and family, or simply looking for a peaceful place to unwind, Purple Adobe Lavender Farm is one of those places that leaves you feeling refreshed long after you’ve gone home.
