Most people know Purple Adobe Lavender Farm for its lavender, but many are surprised to discover that the farm is home to a wide variety of flowers and gardens. As the seasons change, so do the colors, textures, and blooms that make each visit a little different from the last.
A walk through the ornamental gardens reveals much more than lavender. Throughout the farm, you’ll find dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, bachelor’s buttons, strawflowers, and other seasonal blooms that provide color from early summer into fall. These gardens are planted not only for their beauty but also to support bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators that are an important part of a healthy landscape.
Everything we grow is cultivated using organic practices. Since the farm was established, our philosophy has been simple: care for the soil, work with nature, and grow plants without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. That commitment has shaped every garden, every field, and every harvest, and it continues to guide us today.
Our gardens are connected in another meaningful way. Many of the herbs, flowers, and fruits grown here find their way into the Tea House kitchen, where they become part of our seasonal pastries, refreshing teas, and other offerings. It’s a natural progression from garden to table that reflects the rhythm of the farm throughout the growing season.
This year we’ve added a new cutting garden that will allow visitors to enjoy the flowers in a new way. Beginning in August, guests will be able to stroll through the garden and gather their own bouquet from a colorful selection of seasonal blooms. Like the lavender fields, the cutting garden is designed to encourage visitors to slow down, spend time outdoors, and experience the beauty of the farm at their own pace.
Of course, no visit would be complete without a walk through the lavender fields themselves. Each variety has its own character, fragrance, and bloom time, creating a landscape that changes throughout the season.
