In 2001, lavender found Elizabeth. She was introduced to this remarkable plant and was immediately intrigued—drawn to every part of what it meant to create and care for a lavender farm. From the color purple, her favorite since childhood, to her early love of gardening nurtured by her mother, it all felt like a return to her roots. Her passion for art, nature, and business came together in perfect harmony.
To deepen her knowledge, Elizabeth traveled to France to study lavender, learning the time-honored traditions of growing, harvesting, and crafting products with care. Inspired and informed, she returned home and began searching for the perfect land. She and her husband, Roger, left California, and when they found the Chama River Valley, they knew instantly—it was meant to be. It felt like divine intervention.
From the beginning, the vision was to create a place of peace and beauty—where guests could connect with nature, walk among fragrant rows, and feel at home. What began as a dream of a home-based business blossomed into the Purple Adobe Lavender Farm: a sanctuary built on love, intention, and natural living.
Over the years, the farm grew into something truly special. Elizabeth handcrafts all-natural lavender bath and body products, and has created serene spaces throughout the property for visitors to relax and enjoy. Her gluten-free kitchen offers lavender scones, cookies, iced tea, gelato, and other delights—all made with love and the finest natural ingredients.
Today, the Purple Adobe Lavender Farm stands as a dream fulfilled. We welcome guests to visit, linger, and experience the peace, beauty, and inspiration that lavender continues to bring to this special place.
